How You Can Give Back During COVID-19
If you know us, you know that we are fueled by love. We are committed to giving everyone the tools they need to live their healthiest, happiest lives. Through our one-to-one platform, we donate a meal to a child in need through Feeding America’s BackPack Program for every product sold. With COVID-19 taking its toll on families and individuals worldwide, we will be donating 2 meals to Feeding America for every product sold through June 1st.
Feeding America
Did you know that the Feeding America network is the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States including in disasters and national emergencies? One of the most significant impacts of the pandemic has been school closures. Without access to school meals, children lose a consistent source of healthy food. Here's how Feeding America is responding to the challenge:
- Launched the COVID-19 Response Fund, a national food and fund-raising effort to support people facing hunger.
- Working with government leaders to provide strong support for federal nutrition programs including the School Lunch Program
- Partnering with school districts to ensure that the 22 million children who rely on school meals have access to food outside of the classroom
- Safely continuing their distribution of household items like cleaning supplies, diapers and personal care products
How Can You Help?
Whether it be a cause, a particular non-profit or a community, there are many brands that dedicate partial profits to something more than the brand itself. With each purchase you make, a percentage goes into a mission they care for deeply. Not only are you supporting a product you like, you are sustaining a mission beyond just the product. Additionally, we have gathered a list of places who also need your help.
-Meals on Wheels delivers meals to the country’s elderly population.
-Citymeals is taking donations to ensure every one of their homebound elderly neighbors in need has nourishing meals during this crisis.
-The American Red Cross is looking for eligible people to give blood for those in need.
-Center for Disaster Philanthropy is a US-based organization that supports local nonprofits in areas with a high number of affected individuals and vulnerable populations to help them support hourly wage earners.
-GoFundMe has started a general relief fund to directly support those affected by the pandemic and organizations working to keep people safe and find a cure.
We believe we can all work together during this difficult time. You can join our Coconut Family and help us eliminate childhood hunger right here in the United States. Give what you can and stay safe. We are all in this together!
